Leading General Contractor seeking an experienced Project Coordinator in Vancouver BC to support and assist the project team in all coordination aspects of the construction of a major residential high-rise project. Under the direction of a Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will ensure timely and accurate flow of information related to project details and safety protocols to subtrades, clients/owners, architects, and other project stakeholders. This position provides an opportunity to be actively involved in all aspects of construction documentation control, systems, and processes. Salary will be in the range of $60,000 - $80,000. Responsibilities of Project Coordinator
- Collect, organize, and maintain all project materials including (but not limited to): drawings, specifications, purchase orders, design plans, contract documents, file correspondence;
- Prepare change order documentation and track all contracts change orders and purchase orders;
- Assist with the sample and shop drawing review process throughout the project including review, distribution, and final approvals electronically;
- Report on project progress and productivity to senior management and clients;
- Ensure compliance with on-site and company-wide health and safety protocols and policies;
- Communicate with subtrades to assist in budgeting to ensure they understand their scope of work;
- Review designs and use knowledge of construction methods to determine the most cost-effective approach.
Knowledge and Skills of Project Coordinator
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or a related field;
- Minimum one-to-two (1-2) years of experience in construction on-site as a Project Coordinator;
- Proficiency in Procore, MS Project and other construction-related software will be considered a strong asset;
- Academic experience or professional exposure to Design or VCON will be considered an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines;
- Willing and excited to work on site and be actively involved in project execution.
