Kelly is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Worker to work for our Chemical Industrial business partner, a global leader in chemical production at BASF in Regina.

  • Pay: $25.00 per hour plus 5.77% Vacation Pay
  • Contract Length: ASAP to TBD (No end date)

Job Description:

Conduct light duty miscellaneous repairs including plumbing, electrical support, equipment installation, boiler inspection, and general office support on day-to-day operations.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school plus 5 years’ experience of similar job in an industrial environment
  • Familiarity with industrial workplace hazards and safety protocols.
  • Working knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety, and its legislation
  • Good troubleshooting skills with demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Working ability to interpret blueprints is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Electronics is an asset.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to operate forklift, boom lift, and skid-steer; Certification is an asset.
  • Boiler ticket would be an asset.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct light duty repairs in the office and plant buildings.
  • Support maintenance team to ensure safe execution of the day-to-day maintenance tasks.
  • Support facility supervisor to provide support for maintaining office buildings.
  • Conduct carpentry, plumbing, and miscellaneous repair jobs.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of office lighting systems and repair/replace lighting fixtures.
  • Daily inspection and checking of HVAC, furnaces, and boilers (Power Engineer license is out of scope).
  • Inspection of safety equipment like fire extinguishers, safety showers, first aid boxes, and eye wash stations.
  • Support maintenance team in maintaining workshop (tool segregation and housekeeping)
  • Support site in moving snow from parking area, walkways, and lots.
  • Complete mandatory safety and skill trainings assigned for the role.
  • Execute tasks assigned through SAP and complete the work orders after executing the tasks.
  • Maintain housekeeping in workshop and in the parts store. Active participation in implementing 5-S program.
  • Provide support and coordinate with Maintenance planner on day-to-day planning and scheduling tasks.

Other Details:

  • All training and safety equipment are provided (Steel-toe CSA approved footwear is your responsibility)
  • Week 1 – Mon – Thur 6:00am to 3:30pm & Fri 6:00am to 2:30pm
  • Week 2 – Mon – Thur 6:00am to 3:30pm with Friday off
  • Must be flexible with scheduling – some weeks, hours may fluctuate due to the nature of the production cycle or as maintenance needs arise.
  • Reliable transportation is required (work location is unavailable via public transit by bus during early morning start/end times)
