Job Title: Press/Forge Engineering Technician
Location: Ingersoll ON
Our client is in search of a Press/Forge Engineering Technician to join their team. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will provide support and direction to Forging area employees, both hourly and salaried. Consult with production and maintenance to ensure quality production and maintenance activities for the area (2-shift operation).
Responsibilities
- Oversee effective operation of the press/forge operation on a two-shift operation.
- Responsible for OEE of the press/forge operation.
- Collaborate with employees to ensure production of quality forgings.
- Consult with Production Manager and Maintenance Manager daily to align on production plan and maintenance activities.
- Actively participate in regular staff communication sessions.
- Project assignments as required.
- Coordinate work performed by outside vendors.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Skill/Effort Requirements
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations is an asset.
- Design equipment improvements and input into the preventative maintenance program.
- Standardized procedures and create clear SOPs or work instructions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Initiative-taking and able to motivate others.
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization along with outside contractors and vendors.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the Press/Forging process with the ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make effective, prompt decisions.
