Safety Supervisor

Reports to Safety Coordinator.

What you will do:

• Provide daily field support for all employees and contractors on site
• Deliver site orientations for contractors
• Deliver training for new Project Coordinators and ongoing refresher training
• Conduct TapRoot incident investigations involving contractors
• Ensure contractors are meeting site safety expectations

What you will bring:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 3-5 years heavy industrial experience
• 5-7 years of experience in safety, or a similar role
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification preferred
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) considered an asset
• Certifications related to safety equipment, processes, procedures an asset
• Supervisor Certificate to supervise employees in an underground mine would be an asset
• Strong Safety Commitment
• Knowledge of the OH&S Act and Regulations and a general understanding of Safety Systems
• Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills (Word/Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain open communications with subordinates, peers, supervisors and service providers
• Availability in case of emergency
• Good oral and written skills and demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver materials and make presentations in a group or classroom situation
• Self-motivated and independent
