What You’ll Do:

  1. Draft high-quality content aligned with RAA’s advocacy and thought leadership agenda, including speeches, briefing notes, submissions, and media releases.
  2. Monitor media activities and emerging trends, providing insights and recommendations on how to address key issues.
  3. Help create engaging content for media, social media, and digital platforms to promote RAA’s advocacy efforts.
  4. Review and enhance the advocacy content on RAA’s websites, ensuring it effectively communicates RAA's positions and activities to members.
  5. Contribute to the development of accessible public policy positions for RAA’s leaders and spokespeople.
  6. Draft public policy positions aligned with RAA’s key advocacy priorities and strategic goals.
  7. Conduct research and analysis on emerging issues, providing written and verbal insights and recommendations to support advocacy efforts.
  8. Monitor parliamentary and government activities, staying informed on new developments and offering recommendations on how they may impact RAA.
  9. Support other functions within the Government & Public Policy and Corporate Communications teams, contributing to RAA’s overall advocacy and communication strategies.
  10. Assist in the ongoing development and execution of communication strategies to enhance RAA’s visibility and impact in the public policy space.

What We're Looking For:

  1. Undergraduate Degree in public policy, political science, communications or other relevant discipline (Obtained in 2024 or due to complete in 2025)
  2. Experience in customer service, retail and/or hospitality is highly desirable
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to craft compelling arguments in policy proposals, submissions and briefings
  4. Strong research and analytical skills
  5. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high quality of work
  6. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  7. High attention to detail, with a strong work ethic and self-motivation
  8. Teamwork demonstrated through extracurricular activities (e.g. sports, clubs, work, societies)
  9. GPA of 5.0 or higher (credit average)
