Cost Accountant in Barrie | $75K/annually (2025-02-25)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain cost accounting and financial tracking systems.
2. Analyze manufacturing costs and recommend strategies to reduce production expenses.
3. Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles.
4. Perform general audits and ledger entries.
5. Conduct inventory checks and report any discrepancies.
6. Support senior management in creating and maintaining a comprehensive business costing system.
7. Implement feedback and make necessary adjustments.
8. Create visualizations to present accurate financial insights for projects.
9. Collaborate with finance team members to enhance the accuracy of financial records and models.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree or professional certification (CMA, CFA, CPA) is a plus.
2. Strong understanding of international accounting standards.
3. Preferred experience with SAP.
4. Familiarity with Hyperion Consolidation tools is advantageous.
5. 1 to 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Finance with direct cost accounting experience.
6. Proficiency in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
7. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a challenging environment.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Exceptional analytical abilities.
11. Keen attention to detail.
12. Proficiency in SAP.
13. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
14. Strong reporting capabilities.
