General Labourer/Field Technician

Summary of Function:
Atlas Dewatering Corporation is seeking a General Yard Labourer/ Field Technician to assist in cleaning and preparing the service yard/shop, delivering materials and using a variety of tools and machines, such as forklifts, power drills, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment. The General Yard Labourer/Field Technician will also be responsible for assisting in equipment inventory and installing dewatering and bypass systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review orders, schedules, and shipping and receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, volumes, and destinations.
- Load, deliver, and return equipment to customers and back to yard.
- Ensure equipment being delivered is properly identified on the appropriate documentation and verification of receipt is received by customer.
- Monitor and participate in shop work to ensure that it is being cared for and cleaned properly and that materials are being used as they should be.
- Assist in cleaning and preparing the service yard/shop.
- Facilitate repairs as instructed by the Branch Manager.
- Inspect equipment upon loading; liaise with customer as required for damages.
- Ensure equipment being picked up is properly identified and record any damages.
- Unload equipment in a designated area upon arrival to the yard.
- Separate the damaged equipment/accessories from non-damaged equipment accessories.
- Install Red tag on equipment after unloading.
- Respond to emergency field service calls.
- This position may entail travel to remote sites within Ontario.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on mechanic experience.
- Minimum of 3 years management experience in a mechanical shop setting.
- Must be knowledgeable in engine mechanics and operating principles for diesel engines.
- Must have and maintain own tools, both metric and standard.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
- Proven ability to operate under pressure.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be willing to be on call 24/7.
- Must have a clean driving record; G license or D with the Z endorsement would be beneficial.
- Must be computer literate and have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift varying loads, up to 70lbs.
Must have solid job references and a clean criminal record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
