Our client, a year-over-year Top Employer is a leader in Business Analytics/BI (Business Intelligence) software sales and services. They have engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a Presales Specialist. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions.

Description

As a key member of the sales teams clustered around client opportunities, this role focuses on providing deep knowledge of the application of analytics to business problems in the Oil & Gas and Utilities vertical, and a deep knowledge of relevant software to sales situations.

Typical presales-related activities can include developing understanding of client’s current business situation and environment, challenges, strategies, and opportunities; crafting a target solution that will provide value to our clients; demonstrating how the proposed solution will deliver this value; developing a business case that supports the clients’ acquisition of the solution; developing proposals and responding to RFPs; and participating in and delivering presentations, workshops, and briefings.

Additional responsibilities can include assisting in demand-generation activities, ensuring successful transition of the proposed solution to the Implementation teams, providing internal education, nurturing and maintaining key client relationships, maintaining competitive knowledge, and support for the development of opportunity and account strategies.

Qualifications

Skills/Competencies

  1. Significant relevant experience in the application of business analysis, decision support and/or analytics in one or more of the key energy-related verticals – Oil & Gas and/or Utilities. This experience could be developed via work experience within the vertical, as a software solutions provider to the vertical, or from consulting experience.
  2. Significant relevant experience and understanding of analytical concepts (e.g., data mining, forecasting, optimization, etc.) and the application of analytics to provide business value would be an asset.
  3. Experience with software capabilities is a plus; as would be deep experience with other business intelligence/decision support/analytical software.
  4. Highly effective communications and relationship skills (written, presentation, conversational) to present/message/communicate/sell effectively at all levels of client organization.
  5. High levels of proactivity, creativity, curiosity, self-motivation, thirst for knowledge.
  6. Goal oriented, competitive.
  7. Ideally, experienced with sales methodologies, working with sales teams, and clear evidence of sales/sales support success.
  8. Works effectively in virtual and formal teams, takes ownership and shows leadership within the team and with client interaction and relationships.
