Electro-Federation Canada Accounting Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking a full-time Accounting Bookkeeper who has a keen eye for accuracy and efficiency in financial data entry and record keeping, auditing, financial reporting and documentation.
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance, the duties and responsibilities of the EFC Accounting Bookkeeper include the following:
- Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate financial transaction records.
- Input transaction details into our accounting system.
- Create, update, and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile employee expenses and expense reports.
- Transfer entries from events platform to the accounting system.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:- Manage non-dues accounts receivable, including invoice creation, distribution, and collections.
- Manage bill payment approval process among EFC staff.
- Record actual payment and revenue in budget software/excel sheets.
- Monitor Aged Receivables reports for timeliness.
Bank Entry:Perform regular bank receivables entry and resolve any discrepancies.
Credit Card Entry and Reconciliations:- Perform credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies (Revenue from CVENT).
Financial Reporting:- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Support month-end and year-end processes.
Audit Preparation:- Assist in audit documentation and schedules.
- Provide support for internal and external audit requirements.
Compliance and Documentation:- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Support VP of Finance:- Support events staff with various tasks (registration refunds, events accounting settings).
- Assist in T4A – Scholarship filing and distribution.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal financial processes and policies.
- Work collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with members and Electro Federation Canada team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma in accounting or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years of related experience as a bookkeeper or staff accountant.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage, and MS Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience with Excel, CVENT, Payfabric, and ExpensePoint.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English.
- Highly organized and comfortable interacting with clients independently.
- Positive attitude and high level of professionalism when working with members.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Extremely detail-oriented with a proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize workflow.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative, and be proactive.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
