Through the collaborative efforts of Peel Human Trafficking Service Provider Committee (PHTSPC) and the Region of Peel, Peel has opened an integrated service HUB for victims and survivors of sexual exploitation. The goal is to improve access to services and supports for victims and survivors in one safe location.
MISSION
We are partnering with our client in search of a Client Navigator who will work directly with clients and community service providers to support the needs of the collaborative. The incumbent also establishes and maintains a relationship with service partners and referral sources.
PRIORITIES
Complete intake and assessment to determine client needs and interests.
Support the implementation of next steps for care.
Keep careful and accurate records and maintain client case file of all relevant information pertaining to assigned caseload, via the designated database.
Conduct therapeutic, trauma-informed risk assessment, and safety planning.
Support identifying the client’s needs, and desired referrals to on-site and off-site partners for service, in coordination with the case managers.
Coordinate with case managers to support continuum of care and access to services.
Coordinate and develop the onsite calendar of service partners for clients to access.
Provide support with intake process to service providers in the community and promote awareness and understanding of the program and services offered at the hub.
Responsible for conducting virtual and in-person outreach activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
TALENTS & EXPERTISE
Bachelor's degree in social work, or related human service field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2-3 years of relevant work experience with victims of human trafficking.
Demonstrated knowledge of human trafficking, gender-based violence, experience working with victims and survivors of human trafficking, and trauma.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of counseling, social work, and case management.
Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment with co-workers, community providers and stakeholders, and clients.
Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French as well as other languages are considered an asset).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of database management.
Ability to work independently.
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check and valid CPI/UMAB and First Aid/CPR certifications.
A valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle with a $2,000,000 (minimum) liability car insurance coverage are mandatory.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to.
