About the Company - Universal Precision Technology is a well-established organization that specializes in the manufacturing of precision components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, aircraft, military, medical, optical, and defense sectors. We are looking to increase our diverse and dynamic team with the addition of an accomplished individual.

About the Role - Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent working knowledge of quality systems and leading a team. They must possess and effectively apply intellect, judgment, and management skills to achieve desired business performance results. Responsibilities include coordinating plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner; following and complying with all AS9100 / ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing and quality standards, regulations, legislative, and customer requirements to ensure high standards are maintained; partaking in audits of quality, sales, production, and administration to drive process standardization and continuous improvement; reviewing production/quality trends, communicating and making recommendations to the president, and initiating cost-effective actions; managing staffing demands for performance appraisals and resolving employee relation issues/conflicts; overseeing the scheduling and completion of preventative maintenance tasks; abiding by instructions, regulations, and safety policies; and performing other duties as instructed or required to successfully complete the job.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing management sector;
  • Bachelor’s degree in production management, business administration, or mechanical engineering;
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate others;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Ability and willingness to implement a culture around Lean / Six Sigma initiatives;
  • The proven ability to meet deadlines while under pressure and effectively handle a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • This individual is required to have strong computer skills with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.;
  • Knowledge of CNC machining and tooling design is an asset;
  • Basic security clearance (Controlled Goods Program);
  • Own steel toe safety shoes.
