WellFort is seeking to hire Full Time Contract (12 month) Manager, Dental Program!

WellFort Community Health Services is a non-profit, values-based organization based in Peel Region. We provide a wide variety of comprehensive care including primary care, dental, mental health and chronic disease management with a focus on illness prevention, health promotion and community development. The Manager is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Health Centre including program and service development, supervision of the staff team, and community and agency relations. They participate as part of the leadership team to support the WellFort Community Health Services.

They play a foundational role in the determination of program and service development. This position establishes and leads the inter-professional team, cultivates strong community relationships, and integrates the work of the Health Centre with the broader WellFort strategies and priorities.

Working in an interprofessional team that uses a client-centered and self-management approach, the Dental Program Manager is responsible for coordinating all administrative, operational and strategic aspects of the dental program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Coordination:

  • Ensures that programs and services are consistent with the strategic and operational plans and direction of WellFort.
  • Oversees the provision of dental services, programs, community development, advocacy initiatives, and volunteer services.
  • Plans, researches, and develops program service plans including appropriate expansion and new business models as appropriate.
  • Participates in consultations, networks, advocacy activities, and community development to raise the profile and further the interests of dental clinic’s target populations.
  • Develops positive relationships with community leaders and other service agencies.
  • Ensures dental clinic staff maintains clear, accurate and timely written electronic documentation including EHR, reports, encounters and other information as required by the clinic, MOH, RCDSO or other professionals.
  • Prepares monthly service statistics and oversees the monitoring and tracking of monthly budgetary reporting as required by the organization and all funders.
  • Ensures the coordination and execution of the ordering of clinical supplies, equipment and resources for the team.
  • Coordinates and ensures monthly chart audit process.
  • Ensures appropriate staff scheduling for all members of the dental clinic team and supporting of service resources so staff can execute on the program.
  • Oversees and monitors all quality and risk management activities to ensure all Infection, Prevention and Control practices are regularly audited and all staff are compliant in care delivery and privacy elements in alignment with best practices and legislative requirements.

Human Resources:

  • Leads, guides and supports staff, encourages growth and learning, and ensures that resources are used wisely.
  • Hires, evaluates, disciplines, and terminates staff.
  • Facilitates team-based initiatives and promotes effective inter-professional functioning and operations with a shared care model.
  • Coordinates orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Ensures compliance with all mandatory training and competency of all staff in program.

Administration and Facilities:

  • Prepares budget submissions for/in consultation with the Finance leadership and the Senior Team.
  • Works with the appropriate leadership, Facilities team member and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee to ensure that the clinic's maintenance functions are carried out and that the facility is very clean, well-maintained and safe.

Other:

  • Assists with policy creation for the Health Centre and other areas as may be required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working for a community-based health/services and/or values-based organization.
  • Minimum of three years of formal or informal leadership experience including supervising a multidisciplinary team, program development, and day-to-day operation (ideally in a dental clinic environment).
  • Experience as a member of a front-line dental team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and management, and to work flexibly and effectively in an inter-professional team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in planning, evaluation and quality monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of community-based primary health care, determinants of health, public policy within the health sector, current issues and resources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict management, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Proven flexibility and a positive attitude. Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and innovation.
  • Experience in community consultation, health promotion and education practices.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills and experience with EHR’s an asset.
  • Ability to speak languages relevant to Peel residents is an asset.

  • Salary range for this position is $35.54/hr - $42.82/hr (dependent on experience) plus excellent benefits and HOOPP.
