Marketing Coordinator (Marketing Department) – Calgary, AB

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Marketing Coordinator to join the Marketing Department. This position will assume a wide variety of marketing responsibilities with an emphasis on event coordination, CRM, website management, and special projects. There are also some administrative tasks with this role. It requires a true team player with a “can-do” attitude, and an individual with a great service and a solutions-oriented approach. The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be collaborative, professional, adaptable, positive and interested in their work.

Work Environment

Hybrid remote work arrangements are available with requirements as per business needs for onsite office support. The successful candidate must live in or around Calgary, AB and be able to commute to the office as often as required. While this is a hybrid role, the majority of the work may be onsite.

Fasken Calgary has a mandatory requirement of three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days remote, work permitting. In-office requirements are subject to change, based on business needs as determined by the Firm’s Management.

Hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Occasional pre-authorized overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Primary Responsibilities

Events Management:

  • Organize regional (and support Firm-wide) seminars, webinars for external networking events from start to finish. Foster and maintain relationships with external vendors to support these initiatives.
  • Stay on top of current event trends.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to ensure events align with Firm-wide marketing and client engagement strategies. Responsible for distributing office tickets.
CRM Data Steward

  • Proactively manage and maintain contact data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Onboard and provide training to new legal assistants.
  • Build, test, and send electronic communications such as bulletins and event invitations to clients and prospects, supporting business development efforts.
Website Management

  • Post and maintain lawyer online biographies, including regular updates of experience items, speaking engagements and legal recognitions.
  • Contribute to Firm-wide bulletin production, ensuring that content aligns with marketing and business development goals and client engagement.
  • Coordinate new lawyer headshots.
Corporate Merchandise Program

  • Manage and maintain the region’s branded corporate merchandise program to enhance the Firm's visibility.
Special Projects

  • Assist with various special projects as needed, including those that support the Firm's growth and client relationship-building activities such as client gifts and social media.
  • Oversee Fasken TV.
Administrative

  • Coordination of bill payments and cheque requisitions for marketing and department expenses. Provide administrative support to the Regional and Firm-wide Marketing team as needed.
Required Knowledge And Experience

  • University degree or college diploma with a focus on either Marketing or Communications.
  • Minimum 2-3 years related experience working in a Corporate or Professional services environment.
  • Excellent familiarity with Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with photo editing software is also desirable.
  • Experience with content management software is advantageous, as is any knowledge of CRM applications, in particular InterAction.
Supervisor

  • This role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development.
