Pertinent Details: Career opportunity (Direct Hire) with a very progressive, diversified and highly automated manufacturing facility. Hours of work to be 6:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m, but on-call as necessary.

Compensation: $150-198K + 10-15% bonus +benefits + pension/RSP (and much more)

Job Description:

The Maintenance Manager is primarily responsible for leading the maintenance team, solving complex situations with effective solutions in the least amount of time. With a strong technical background, the Maintenance Manager will have the ability to encourage the use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving with your team. Duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop, manage, and report on the spend against the plant R&M budget and adjust in relation to changes in production volume.
  • Develop, implement, and manage maintenance standard and best practices across the various plants (US/CAN) in conjunction with the maintenance teams while managing the maintenance strategy for the local plant.
  • Establish Asset & Spare Part Criticality to be used to determine equipment repair/replacement strategies and manage spare part inventory levels in the plant.
  • Must be able to implement Reliability Centered Maintenance Practices (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FEMA) and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Continually work to improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety concerns.
  • Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout the maintenance department regarding problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
  • Establish best management practices to encourage positive employee engagement which includes an opportunity for constructive input and action.
  • Suggest, justify, implement, manage, and report on the plant’s capital projects.
  • Build positive relationships with vendors to optimize outcomes while maintaining cost effectiveness.
  • Execute vendor assessments for equipment repairs & services and complete regular follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure budgets are met and relevant documentation is complete guaranteeing proper payments to vendors for services rendered and procured materials.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure purchase orders are in place for parts and services required for relevant work orders.
  • Identify and implement predetermined, preventative, corrective, condition based and predictive maintenance while reducing reactive maintenance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Lead and manage the use of SAP as the CMMS system ensuring all work requests, requirements and relevant data are captured and maintained.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standardized work instructions in SAP to ensure that all plants can utilize the same instructions, planning and bill of materials (BOM) for common equipment.
  • Act as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies as needed/required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in a technical discipline, trade license preferred (ie 433A, 442/309A or similar).
  • A CMRP or MMP designation strongly preferred.
  • Previous budgetary/fiscal responsibility for an entire maintenance department
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills to handle day-to-day demands.
  • Exceptional analytical skills needed for critical decision making.
  • Time management skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in both electrical and mechanical.
