In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice - Allied Health, the Lead, Allied Health Practice leads the strategic planning/design, implementation, promotion, evaluation, and maintenance of discipline-specific projects and initiatives designed to support unregulated and regulated health profession practices such as scope of practice and regulations, transition of unregulated professions to regulated, patient safety priorities, orientation, resource planning, and research in order to enhance practice environments and effective and efficient quality care.
Travel is a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment.
Graduate of an approved clinical health profession with a Master's degree in that health profession, health administration, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A minimum of seven (7) years of recent, related clinical experience inclusive of a minimum of three (3) years of experience in education, clinical leadership, and/or operational experience in a complex health care environment including progressive clinical practice, education, research, and project management and leadership experiences. Current practicing registration with a relevant allied health regulatory college and/or association/society in British Columbia. Valid BC Driver's License.
