Job description

The Department of English at Dalhousie University invites applications for a 100%, limited-term position at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. The position will be tenable for a ten-month term (1 August 2025 to 31 May 2026), and the successful applicant will teach three undergraduate courses in each of the fall and winter semesters.


The successful candidate must hold a PhD in English, Creative Writing, or Writing Studies, or an MA or MFA in Creative Writing, by the date of appointment. Experience teaching academic writing to students at the university level is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research experience in Creative Writing in the fields of editing & publishing and/or fiction. This position is subject to budgetary approval.


Interviews will be conducted via teleconference, and will be scheduled as soon as possible after the application deadline.
