Position Overview:

The Assistant Slot Operations Manager supports the daily operations of the Casino’s Slot Cage, Count Room, and Slot Floor ensuring the accurate exchange of money and compliance with all security, AGLC Terms and Conditions, and AGLC AML standards. This role requires a strong understanding of cash handling procedures, cage management systems, leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cash Handling and Transactions:
    Oversee the exchange of currency, chips, and TITO for customers.
    Monitor transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with casino policies, AGLC, and AML Policies.
    Ensure proper documentation of large cash transactions and report as necessary.
    Process customer cash advances, debits, and other related services.
  2. Supervision and Staff Management:
    Assist the Slot Operations Manager in supervising cage, count room, and slot floor personnel, including cashiers, count room attendants, slot floor attendants, and other team members.
    Train and mentor new employees on casino procedures, cash handling, and customer service.
    Maintain scheduling for Slot Cage, Count Room, and Slot Floor staff to ensure sufficient coverage during peak hours.
    Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or escalate issues to the Slot Operations Manager.
    Evaluate performance of Slot Cage, Count Room, and Slot Floor personnel.
    Track daily Performance Management/Attendance for all Slot Cage, Count Room, and Slot Floor personnel.
  3. Security and Compliance:
    Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed strictly, and that proper security measures are in place.
    Verify and audit the daily cash count and handle discrepancies promptly.
    Ensure that all activities comply with AGLC and AML regulations, as well as the casino’s internal policies.
    Perform periodic audits and inventory checks to maintain accuracy and prevent theft or fraud.
    Be aware of the various types of Slots and Video Gaming device cheating methods and recognize any potential attempts while monitoring assigned section.
    May assist in banning guests and liquor sweeps as needed.
  4. Customer Service:
    Provide excellent customer service to guests, assisting with transactions and resolving any customer issues or complaints.
    Promote positive guest relations and create a friendly atmosphere.
    Handle large or complex customer transactions with professionalism and efficiency.
    Help customers understand the casino's procedures for credit advances/debits, and other transactions.
  5. Reporting and Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of all transactions, inventory, and audits.
    Prepare and submit daily reports on cash flows and operational issues to the Slot Operations Manager or other upper management.
    Assist with reconciling discrepancies, reporting any irregularities to the Slot Operations Manager.
  6. Assist in Special Projects:
    Support the Slot Operations Manager in implementing new systems, processes, or procedures.
    Assist with managing and overseeing special events and high-volume times in the casino.
    Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
    Provide learning and development opportunities for Tsuut’ina Employees.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required; some college or relevant certifications preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a casino as a Slot Cage Supervisor or similar financial setting.
Knowledge of Slot Casino Operations, cash handling procedures, and AGLC and AML regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
Ability to resolve controversy and maintain a fair and objective position when dealing with team members and guests.
Ability to work in a high-risk, fast-paced environment, follow detailed procedures, and ensure accuracy in documentation and data.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive financial data with integrity and discretion.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common office software.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to cover as a Slot Cage/Floor/Count Room Supervisor as required.
