Maintenance Technician/Maintenance Specialist HIRING IMMEDIATELY - St. Charles, IL

Shift 11 pm to 7 am - must have flexibility to work overtime when applicable

Pay Range: $30.75/hr - $39.39/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium (based on experience)

Compensation:

  • Starting rate $30.75 - $39.39 per hour based on experience

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems associated with all manufacturing equipment. Directly responsible for installation and repair of all equipment concerned with plant operations, services, buildings including storage and inventory of spare parts.
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams for the installation and repair of equipment and facility.
  • Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
  • Isolate defects, disassemble, repair and test faulty machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Develop simple types of experimental and operating equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate and adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Perform major electrical repairs including 3-phase, 440 and PLC, new installations of equipment, replacement and test of electrical circuit equipment and appliances.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools and testing instruments (ammeter, ohmmeter, testing lamp etc.) for electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform electrical work according to requirements of local and state building/safety codes.
  • Repairs parts that require minor machine work and welding using gas and electrical welding equipment.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.
  • Perform carpentry, plumbing, painting and related work as necessary depending on assigned projects.
  • Communicate problems encountered through the shift with Plant Engineer/Shift Supervisor.
  • Install lighting fixtures and replace bulbs and ballast.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree/or Electrical Engineering certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years manufacturing maintenance experience required.
  • High degree of mechanical ability and aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
  • Positive work attitude.
