Overview

PES Technician 5 Month Contract - Thunder Bay

The Company is currently looking for one individual to perform the duties of a temporary Field Service Technician “B” for the period of five (5) months: February to June 2025. The designated shift for this position is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; shifts will be scheduled Monday to Friday based on Company requirements. The successful applicant must be able to perform “On-Call” duties on a rotating basis every second week and when required for vacation coverage - Mon-Fri 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM & Sat-Sun 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. When not scheduled in PES, the successful candidate will be scheduled in their home role based on Company requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Daily support when required and determined by branch departmental requirements.
2. Working alone in the trade troubleshooting and performing repair work on soft drink dispensing equipment including vending machines, visi coolers and fountain equipment.
3. Delivering and installing soft drink dispensing equipment.
4. Using and maintaining trade tools and specialized testing equipment, i.e., electrical meters and refrigeration diagnostic tools.
5. Accurate completion of invoices, settlement sheets, and related paperwork, through handheld computers and/or a manual paper process.
6. Must adhere to PBC Home Based Technician Policy when in position of the service vehicle.
7. Maintain parts & equipment inventory.

Qualifications

1. Able to work evenings and weekends, on-call, when required (bi-weekly).
2. Flexible start times to meet customer needs if required.
3. A clean Ministry of Transport driver’s abstract and CVOR certificates required, in accordance with the company’s hiring policy.
4. Strong interpersonal/organizational customer skills.
5. High school diploma.
6. Able to safely move heavy vending/cooling equipment.
7. Ability to operate a handheld computer using Apple/Windows based software.
8. Strong mechanical and electrical skills are required - Aptitude test will be administered.
9. Successful candidate must achieve a weighted average grade of 75% or higher to pass.
10. Test results may be utilized to determine the most successful candidate.
