Mechanical Designer - MEP

Our client is in search of a Mechanical Designer to bolster our expanding team, where you'll play a pivotal role within our Engineering Team. Our client's modus operandi is hands-on, ensuring your involvement in projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

1. Crafting designs for building mechanical systems encompassing HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, and Building Automation
2. Conducting field surveys to assess existing building systems
3. Generating engineering load calculations, equipment sizing, and selection
4. Producing engineered drawings, details, and schematics utilizing AutoCAD
5. Drafting technical specifications
6. Ensuring designs adhere to pertinent codes and regulations
7. Compiling technical reports
8. Overseeing contract administration tasks such as issuing site instructions, reviewing submittals, conducting field inspections, and generating field reports

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. Possession of a P.Eng. designation is advantageous, or eligibility for P.Eng. application
3. 2-5 years of experience in designing building mechanical systems (plumbing & drainage, HVAC, fire protection)
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred
5. Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
6. Proficient in English written and verbal communication
7. Competency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
8. Familiarity with HVAC load calculations (HAP preferred, energy modeling is a bonus)
9. Understanding and application of relevant codes and regulations
10. Possession of a valid driver’s license
