Job Description:

The Heavy Equipment Operator/Mechanic is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators, skid steers, and other heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment. This position requires mechanical assistance with heavy equipment and other equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
• Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.
• Required to work alongside mechanics as well as alone on equipment.
• Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

This position requires the ability to work overtime and include weekends. Pay: $27.57/hr

Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in soil moving, and soil processing operations.
• Experience in using a wheel loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer loaders, and/or other heavy equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical ability is a must.
• Good work ethic, self-motivated.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Willing and able to work outdoors in all climate conditions.
• Ability to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk (with or without accommodations) for long periods of time.
