Our local client is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Representative to join their growing team. This person will work closely with the Vice President of Human Resources to develop, implement, and maintain effective health and safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Workplace Inspections: Identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce safety procedures, keeping records up-to-date.
  • Training: Deliver safety training, promote safe practices, and coordinate emergency drills.
  • Incident Management: Investigate accidents, report findings, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on safety legislation and ensure workplace adherence.
  • Advocacy: Act as a liaison for safety concerns, lead committee meetings, and promote awareness.
  • Risk Management: Develop strategies to mitigate risks and monitor corrective actions.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Maintain response plans, first aid stations, and emergency equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in a Health and Safety position is required
  • Knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and standards

Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) certificates an asset

Base Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 per year

  • Salary based on experience
  • Benefits package included

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday

Remote Work:

  • This position is not remote and requires on-site presence.

Additional Notes:

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
