Job description

At Baker Tilly Nova Scotia (BTNS), an entrepreneurial, local, independent member firm of Baker Tilly Canada, you will collaborate with a team of 140 dynamic, interesting professionals who pride themselves on exceptional service and commitment to success along with our 59 member-firm offices across the country providing value-added accounting, tax, and advisory services to a wide range of clients from individuals to not-for-profits to large private companies.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning events and travel
  2. Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and/or minutes, as requested
  3. Assembling outflow of packages to clients, following up on signatures and pick up
  4. Accessing client information and status updates from CRA Rep a Client or by calling CRA directly
  5. Scanning, printing, photocopying, and collating documents for distribution, mailing, and filing
  6. Sending and receiving messages and documents using mail, courier, digital signing software, fax machine, or electronic mail
  7. Preparing correspondence, reports, forms, presentations, and other documents
  8. Responding to telephone, in person or electronic enquiries or forwarding to appropriate person
  9. Accurately completing any data entry or information updates, as assigned
  10. Providing back up reception desk coverage including greeting people, directing visitors to the appropriate person, answering and forwarding telephone calls, taking messages, and performing other administrative duties
  11. Performing other related duties, as assigned

A successful candidate will have:

  1. Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience (office, call center, administrative assistant, supporting role, tax, or accounting firm, etc.)
  2. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  3. Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to meet competing deadlines
  4. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  5. Willingness to go above and beyond to meet client expectations
