Job: Water Treatment Operator/Labourer - Remote Camp

Position Type: Full-Time

About Us: Tamatta Mining & Construction is seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Operator to join our team and support one of our esteemed clients in maintaining high-quality water treatment standards. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate and maintain a Desalination reverse osmosis plant, including Clean-In-Place (CIP) processes.
  2. Track and order necessary consumables, parts, supplies, and tools to ensure 24/7 plant operations.
  3. Monitor flow meters, gauges, and recording instruments to assess water output, consumption levels, bacterial content, and chlorine levels.
  4. Operate computerized control systems in water filtration and treatment plants to regulate water treatment and distribution.
  5. Inspect plant equipment and systems to identify malfunctions and ensure normal operation.
  6. Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content.
  7. Analyze test results and instrument readings; adjust plant equipment and systems as required.
  8. Provide instructions for process control changes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  9. Conduct security checks on plant and grounds.
  10. Address customer complaints regarding water quality issues.
  11. Complete and maintain accurate plant logs and reports.
  12. Assist with minor maintenance tasks or support skilled tradespersons in machinery installation and repair.
  13. Measure, mix, and transport chemicals for feed stock maintenance as needed.
  14. Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a construction field or camp position.
  2. Registered 3rd or 4th year plumbing apprentice is required.
  3. Gasfitter 'B' ticket is highly desired.
  4. Proven experience in operating and maintaining water treatment or desalination systems, oil & gas, or related fields.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  6. Familiarity with pumps, motors, rotating equipment, and sensors.
  7. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Experience with RO projection and data normalization programs is a plus.
  9. Commitment to quality, empathy, creativity, and rigor in work.

Assets:

  1. Experience in marine/ocean environments, cleantech, and/or instrumentation.
  2. MOC certification and WHMIS training.

  1. Willingness to travel to remote project sites on a rotational basis.
  2. Frequent work on the water.

  5. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including temperatures as low as -60°C.
