Full-time role, on-site in Halifax, NS.

Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for Senior Procurement Specialists to join our large defense clients in Halifax, NS. This person will join the team in a full-time role and will be required to go on-site five times a week. The Senior Procurement Specialist will be accountable for full lifecycle procurement activities for a portfolio of multiple high/critical complexity procurement packages for one of the largest defense programs, inclusive of systems, equipment, and materials.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned procurement tasks, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the Shipbuilding, Aerospace/Defense, Heavy Manufacturing, and Construction industries.
  • Comprehensive depth and breadth of end-to-end procurement knowledge achieved through significant on-the-job work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the MS Office suite.
  • All successful applicants must meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform full lifecycle supplier management activities, including all pre-qualification, supplier engagement, supplier negotiations, and supplier performance management, ensuring on-time material delivery and IMS schedule adherence.
  • Perform requisite research and analysis to develop an optimal sourcing strategy across the assigned portfolio.
  • Execute stakeholder management activities to ensure accurate, timely, and clear advice is provided to the business to support progress and schedule adherence.
  • Develop and implement Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal, managing these sourcing events to meet cost management and scheduling expectations.
  • Perform a full suite of contract management activities for the assigned portfolio, including contract preparation, executive briefings, participation and/or lead negotiations, and post-award contract administration.
  • Fulfill Purchase Order management requirements, including invoice review/attestation, to ensure first-time match invoice management.
  • Analyze market conditions and supplier qualifications, provide contracting strategies, and perform RFx events.
  • Negotiate and execute materials and services contracts, manage risk within the contract portfolio, and manage supplier performance.
  • Manage KPIs, cost analysis, and develop/refine supply chain processes.
  • Manage subcontractor mobilization to the site, including safety/security requirements, orientation, and kick-off meetings.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Sustaining Capital Projects, Management, Senior Leadership, HSE, Finance, etc.).

Compensation:

$100K - $120K per year + full benefits packages

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
