Job description

The VP Industrial Services will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of industrial services operations in Eastern Canada including safety, establishing strategies, budgets, goals, targets with input from members of the business management team, providing leadership and direction to the various branches in the region and taking the lead role in developing and implementing the Company's Industrial Services strategy for Eastern Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Canada East region operates in a “safety first” mentality and set the example for safety leadership with all stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the branches, management team and employees.
  • Establish strategies, budgets, goals, targets with input from members of the business management to grow the Canada East Region.
  • Take the lead role in developing and implementing the company's industrial services strategy in the region.
  • Provide leadership, direction and support for industrial service opportunities in other organizations within the company, specifically the Oil Sands.
  • Lead the business management team in establishing and monitoring the Company's business plan including the setting of goals, objectives, and action plans required to meet the Board approved strategies and budget.
  • Identify and develop locations to have a local presence to develop customer relationships and execute work.
  • Adhere to Company policies and work requirements.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a good relationship with all customers and ensuring a good line of communication with the customer regarding potential jobs, current job status, and job progress.
  • Direct the utilization of personnel and equipment to service customer requirements.
  • Ensure that all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained in accordance with the Company's preventative maintenance program and the physical facilities properly.
  • Ensure the accounting practices are adhered to by the region.
  • Comply with all human resources (personnel, safety, health and environmental) policies, procedures, laws and regulations, including SOP's, AP's, Personnel Manual, OSHA, EPA, and DOT; execute project assigned in a safe, efficient, and profitable manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related required.
  • 10+ years of Industrial Services Operations leadership.
  • Broad knowledge of managerial and selling skills.
  • Financial acumen to include reading and interpreting financial data.
  • Ability to use personal computer.
  • Ability to look forward, problem solve with foresight, apply cause and effect thinking to business challenges, anticipate change, use resources to understand trends and consequences of trends.
  • Safety leadership.
  • Ability to travel 50%.
