Job Description
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on the task at hand
- Prepare materials for welding tasks
- Perform welding in different positions (vertical or horizontal) using arc or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Inspect each weld to ensure it meets standards and specifications
- Cut materials using the appropriate method
- Complete work orders, recording tasks performed and materials used
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of company equipment
- Notify the immediate supervisor of any necessary actions, detected problems, or time overruns
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work safely while adhering to the company's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures
- Perform any other related tasks as required
Qualifications
- Education and Certification: DEP in welding and fitting or an equivalent certification (CWB certification is an asset)
- Experience: Experience in industrial welding, including arc and semi-automatic welding equipment
- Technical Skills: Ability to read technical drawings, weld in various positions, and comply with quality standards
- Health and Safety: Commitment to following OHS policies and maintaining a safe work environment
- Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, autonomy, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
