Rent N Style is a creative firm specializing in luxury balloon decor services and event prop rentals across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The firm also has an in-house graphic design and print production division that caters to special events, weddings and more. We work with reputed corporations across Ontario and we are looking to expand our team to meet industry demands.
Position Summary
The Event Set-Up Crew is responsible for event set-up and tear down across various settings including hotels, banquet halls, corporate offices, residential properties and industrial units. Crew members will be responsible for handling the following equipment: pipe and drape structures, marquee letters, backdrops (fabric, printed and wooden), balloon installations, props, canopy tents, lighting and other miscellaneous event equipment. This role will coordinate directly with the designated Event Coordinator and report directly to the Event Director.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and tear down of events (pipe and drape, arches, backdrops, tables, chairs, staging, carpets etc.)
- Proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment such as: tables, chairs, staging, lighting, structures.
- Ensure all equipment is properly set according to the floor plan created by the Event Coordinator or Event Director.
- Unload/load items into vehicles.
- Upkeep of event rentals (touch up paint, basic wiring and minor assembly)
- Report any safety or security issues to Event Coordinators/ Managers.
- Rent event vehicles on special occasions (25+ year old candidates) and must be able to drive cargo vans or box trucks.
Qualifications
- Previous event experience of 1-2 years preferred.
- Reliable transportation required to and from the office situated at L4W2M4 in Mississauga.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule: mornings, afternoon, evening, weekends.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the team.
- Ability to perform under stress.
- Diligence and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lifts/carries up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 12 hours in length.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must submit to a criminal background check
- Must have a full G Driving License with a clean driving record
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Ontario, Canada
Work Attire
Selected candidates will be provided two t-shirts, which must be worn at all times during your assigned shift. Please wear clothing that is comfortable and practical for your position, but not distracting or offensive to others. Event is rain or shine so please dress according to weather.
