Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the management of wood frame residential and mixed-use construction projects in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing all phases of wood frame construction, a deep understanding of local building regulations, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of wood frame residential and mixed-use projects, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and company goals.
  2. Team Management: Oversee project teams, including supervisors and subcontractors, while mentoring junior staff and fostering continuous improvement.
  3. Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets and financial reports, ensuring cost-effective procurement and addressing potential cost overruns.
  4. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify project risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  5. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and building strong relationships.
  6. Quality Assurance: Maintain high construction quality through regular inspections and prompt resolution of deficiencies.

Education and Certifications:

  1. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  2. PMP or other project management certification is an asset.
  3. Valid local trade certifications or Red Seal qualifications are advantageous.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on wood frame residential and mixed-use projects.
  2. Proven experience in leading large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  3. Familiarity with local building codes, permit processes, and municipal regulations in Vancouver, BC.

Skills:

  1. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  2. Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
  3. Excellent budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills.
  4. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawings.

Compensation and Benefits:
