Job Description:

The Evening Warehouse Worker position is a physical, fast-paced, and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

Job Type: Part-Time Permanent
Work Location: 9 Griffith Road West, Stratford, Ontario, N2A6S4
Workdays: Monday to Friday (Must be available to work all 5 days)
Shift Hours: 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM (Flexibility with start and finish times required based on operational needs)
Shift Duration: 3-5 hours a day
Hourly Wage: $17.30/hr.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers
2. Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods
3. Sort and stock packages based on postal codes

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs.
2. Full availability to work Monday through Friday (all five days of the week)
3. Must be able to work 25 hours per week
4. Ability to read and memorize postal codes
5. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
6. Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
7. No prior warehouse experience required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

1. Hourly Wage: $17.30/hr.
2. Automatic pay rate progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement to $28.71/hr. after 48 months of service
3. Tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per semester (subject to eligibility, program approval, and satisfactory academic performance)

5. Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit- Every Friday

EXPENSES/WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Monthly union dues (approximately $52/month)
2. A union initiation fee of $50 (will be deducted after completing 90 working days with UPS)
3. Exposed to changing temperatures while working in a warehouse environment
