Kettering Health Hamilton
Reports to the Network Director of Oncology Clinical Services. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the outpatient oncology centers. Manages a team of Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, and other ancillary team support. Provides leadership, clinical practice guidelines, staff development, and evaluation of patient services. Manages staff and financial performance. Maintains a patient-oriented, customer service environment.
Minimum Education: BSN preferred
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse, Current State of Ohio Registered Nursing License, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) OCN certification preferred, Certified in CPR
Minimum Work Experience: 5 years minimum of nursing experience, 2 years minimum of Oncology and/or Supervisor experience required, ACHC/accreditation survey experience preferred, Epic EMR experience preferred

Promotes and maintains patient safety and safe work environment. Practices cultural diversity and confidentiality. Manages day-to-day operations including staff based on volumes and acuities. Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with ONS and KHN chemotherapy/biotherapy guidelines and departmental/network policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of drugs, therapies, and treatment given on unit. Advocates for staff and patients. Utilizes EMR for scheduling documentation, report generation, and auditing. Develops and implements performance and process improvement projects and monitors and maintains quality metrics. Maintains accreditation requirements for unit. Participates in Oncology Service line initiatives, meetings, committees, and related hospital/network committees/meetings. Responds to patient concerns and tracks and reports incidents. Performs management functions related to HR activities such as hiring/firing, corrective actions, attendance, competencies, and educational needs. Maintains the department finances, budget, and productivity.
