What you will do
The Senior Analyst Information Technology analyzes, designs, programs, implements, and integrates complex computer applications. This includes:
- Editing and finalizing concept design specifications for existing systems.
- Troubleshooting high-level applications.
- Overseeing the installation and testing of hardware and software.
- Providing advanced technical support for information management applications.
- Organizing all aspects of application development, from analysis through implementation.
- Providing documentation, application design, project plans, and computer code necessary to implement new applications.
- Supporting current systems and designing complex features as requested.
- Developing computer logic flowcharts for analysis and integration.
- Leading research, recommending, and implementing advanced application upgrades and enhancements.
As a pivotal role in the Technology & Data organization, this role will support the vision, objectives, and standards for the Global IT Make Strategy. This includes developing continuous improvement while enhancing and supporting the business across our Guelph site, including Aveva Microsoft Solutions such as Power BI and .NET, and IoT such as Kepware and EDGE products.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into system specifications.
- Implement manufacturing processes for new products and production lines while improving operational efficiency.
- Enhance MES software modules, MS Power BI Dashboards, and Kepware to meet specific business needs.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure stability and reliability.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation, including user manuals and SOPs.
- Provide training and support to end-users on system functionality and best practices.
- Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements.
- Stay current with industry trends to recommend innovative solutions for process optimization.
- Understand compliance standards for Cosmetic and Over the Counter (OTC) IT solutions.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Microsoft, Web Apps, HTML5, and Python maintenance and support for a Supply Chain environment.
- Proficiency in MES software platforms such as Aveva, PASx, SAP, Wonderware, Rockwell Software FactoryTalk, or similar systems.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes, including production scheduling and quality management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on configuration and scripting experience with Microsoft .Net and SQL database management.
- Experience with EDGE and Kepware device integration.
- Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., FDA, ISO) related to manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with industrial automation technologies, such as PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Professional certifications preferred but not required: Parsec, Microsoft .Net or SQL.
