Job Type & Duration: Full-time, Permanent Vacancy

Shift Information: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Affiliation: Non-Union

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the operation and facility management of client buildings, including maintenance, engineering support, and capital project management delivery support.
  2. Manage a multidisciplinary team and develop section policies, programs, and administrative systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
  3. Ensure efficient day-to-day operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all facilities.
  4. Administer the supervision, planning, direction, evaluation, and implementation of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  5. Prepare, monitor, and reconcile operating and capital project budgets.
  6. Develop and implement project control systems and performance evaluation criteria for consultant selection.
  7. Ensure capital projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with the required scope of work.
  8. Liaise and work collaboratively with clients to ensure their needs are met.
  9. Prepare reports for Council and various Committees.
  10. Manage the development and implementation of Corporate Standards relative to facilities management.
  11. Oversee the preparation of specifications and contracts for capital and operating projects.
  12. Implement and administer procurement strategy for the Division.
  13. Develop, implement, and maintain performance evaluation for contractors and consultants.
  14. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities, Construction, Project Management, or a suitable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience in managing a large, multidisciplinary team of unionized, technical, and professional staff.
  3. Extensive experience in facilities project and/or program management for multiple client divisions.
  4. Extensive working knowledge of building planning and design principles, concepts, and procedures.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of common building operational policies and various related Acts/codes/standards.
  6. Experience with capital and/or operating budgets, financial controls, and best practice procedures.
  7. Must possess and maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License.
  8. Effective decision-making skills and strong customer service orientation.
  9. Highly developed human relations skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  10. Available and required to be on call 24/7 for after-hours facility needs.
