Business Architect
Your work days are brighter here.

At Workday, it all began with a conversation over breakfast. When our founders met at a sunny California diner, they came up with an idea to revolutionize the enterprise software market. Our culture, driven by our value of putting our people first, sets us apart. The happiness, development, and contribution of every Workmate is central to who we are. Our Workmates believe a healthy, employee-centric collaborative culture is essential for business success. That’s why we look after our people, communities, and the planet while still being profitable. Feel encouraged to shine however that manifests: you don’t need to hide who you are. You can feel the energy and passion; it's what makes us unique. Inspired to make a brighter workday for all and transform with us to the next stage of our growth journey? Bring your brightest version of you and have a brighter workday here.

About the Team
The Presales team at Workday is a highly valued function and is a key ingredient in the customer wins and successes we have had in the market. The team is comprised of Solution Consultants with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas of enterprise software: HCM, Financials, Planning, Analytics, Sourcing, and Procurement. In addition to functional experts, the team is augmented by technology architects who have deep expertise on design principles, technical architecture, platform architecture, cloud connectivity, and security. As our business has grown, we have increasingly been relied upon by our customers to provide complete solutions encompassing the Planning, HCM, Financials, and Analytics domains. As these demands increase, we are augmenting the Presales team with experienced Business Architects.

About the Role
The Business Architect is an experienced solution strategist who can architect suite-based solutions across the entire Workday portfolio in the context of the customer’s business transformation initiatives. The individual should preferably have experience in the SaaS, ERP, and HCM domain. The individual is a strategic “Solution Captain” who leads the solution design, positioning, and orchestration during the sales process for complex deals, establishing a trusted advisor relationship with the customer and Workday partners. This is a senior-level Solutions Consulting position that demands a person with 12-20 years of ERP experience, solutioning expertise, and experience in managing executive-level stakeholder relationships. Experience in SI consulting, sales cycle, or Presales methodology would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  1. Leading strategic complex differentiated suite solution opportunities to address transformational and business modernization needs of customers.
  2. Developing and driving the overall solution architecture deployment approach/strategy and the personalized customer deliverables along the journey together.
  3. Identifying the key existing systems, system dependencies, and integration points in the overall solution and proposing how the integrated solution would work together.
  4. Collaborating with various functional groups (Value Management Services, Customer Success Management) to build sustainable business with key customers.
  5. Demonstrating the value of the solution to C-level executives in specific areas (e.g., Financial Consolidation, Planning).
  6. Ensuring tools, techniques, and approaches designed are replicable and scalable across the Presales organization wherever possible.

About You
  1. You are an exceptional dynamic presenter with excellent communication and influencing skills specifically to a C-level leadership audience.
  2. You are a self-starter and a self-motivated individual who can assume leadership of virtual teams in a collaborative way.
  3. You have a keen-ness to learn continuously about the industry, the Financials domain, SaaS solutions, and products.
  4. You are fluent in English (spoken and written business environment and conversational).

Key Skills/Ability
  1. System Integrator or program manager experience is desirable.
  2. Ability to map Workday products and solutions to customer problems and craft conceptual, contextual, and solution architectures. A good understanding of how business application technical data/information and infrastructure architectures need to be created is essential with expertise in at least two of the stated architecture areas.
  3. Industry Domain Expertise in at least one of the following industries – Financial Services, High Tech/Media/Ecommerce, General Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution, Healthcare, Hospitality.
  4. Ability to develop consultative and trusted advisor relationships, a compelling vision, and influence key stakeholders.
  5. Ability to build executive presentations and effectively present them in front of internal and external audiences.

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote 'home office' roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
