Job description
Large general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to direct major Data Centre projects ($150m+). You’re a Superintendent with over 15 years of experience. You will develop and execute project plans and schedules, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards. You have a proven track record for meeting budgets, schedules, and scope. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role. Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000.
Responsibilities of Superintendent:
Provide oversight and assistance to field teams for planning and constructability considerations, as well as practical input for budgeting, financial forecasting, and dispute resolution with trades, consultants, and clients through the project management teams.
Perform all functions and responsibilities consistent with the company’s processes, values, and beliefs.
Participate in hiring and assigning project field teams as requested by the leaders, as well as personnel transfers.
Conduct performance and career path reviews with senior field team members, providing quality feedback, guidance in creating development plans and next steps, and scheduling follow-ups. Likewise, provide guidance and mentorship to assignees for reviews of the remaining field team members.
Provide oversight and mentorship of field management teams, including any disciplinary actions.
Support trusting relationships with clients, consultants, and Authorities.
Support Project Managers and/or Construction Managers in resolution of issues and disputes involving clients, consultants, Authorities, and/or trade contracts.
Provide practical constructability input during the pre-construction phase for assigned projects, including schedule and logistics development.
Review the construction schedule with the project teams and participate in updates as required.
Monitor and provide oversight of the field teams regarding planning, scheduling, quality assurance, environmental protection, safety, and logistical functions as required, while ensuring the project progresses on schedule and budget, including resolution to field issues.
Direct the use of the Lessons Learned program, ensuring field teams implement beneficial practices for the project.
Ensure project safety standards and environmental programs are adhered to at all times.
Uphold construction compliance with design and Authority requirements.
Ensure the implementation of, and adherence to, the Safety Program to create a safe work environment on the job site, including record-keeping requirements.
Support preparation of project internal and external reporting, including financial forecasting.
Provide support for preparation and execution of project IPR’s.
Participate in project meetings as required.
Education & Experience of Senior Project Manager:
15-20 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and strong aptitude in reading design documentation.
Ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions, and lead a large team to successful completion.
Construction-related degree, an asset.
