Tasks

1. Collect blood, tissue or other samples from patients
2. Document observations on patients' specimens
3. Log patient samples and prepare them for testing
4. Set up medical laboratory equipment
5. Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses
6. Clean and maintain medical laboratory and laboratory equipment
7. Conduct quality control assessment of testing techniques
8. Assist with or perform autopsies and surgical specimen examinations under pathologists' supervision
9. Clean and maintain autopsy, surgical and other equipment
10. Collect tissue specimens for chemical analysis and record findings
11. Discard specimens according to established safety procedures
12. Prepare for autopsies by obtaining patients' medical records
