What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

1. Design and implement robust and scalable backend systems for the Joist product
2. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using server-side technologies and frameworks
3. Ensure code quality through effective reviews and communication of standards
4. Collaborate across teams to solve complex problems and deliver validated projects
5. Mentor junior developers and contribute to the growth of the engineering team

What is Required (Qualifications):

1. 5+ years of professional experience in agile development teams
2. Expertise in server-side API frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or equivalent
3. Strong understanding of RESTful API design and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis)
4. Experience with microservices architecture and containerization using Docker
5. Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

1. Experience with managed containerized platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS
2. Familiarity with payment processing using providers like Stripe or PayPal
3. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices in cloud environments
4. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
