CNC Machinist (Lathe or Mill) - Afternoon Shift

Location – Mississauga, ON

How will you contribute to the team?

1. Perform programming, set-up, and machining, using Manual and CNC Lathe or Milling machine
2. Complete the machining process from start to finish – including programming, 100% independently
3. Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazak controls
4. MasterCam (or other Cad/Cam software) knowledge a definite asset on lathe, mandatory for milling applicants
5. Wire EDM programming and setup a definite asset
6. Proficient ability to read drawings and accurately machine close-tolerance parts often within 0.0005” tolerance
7. Efficiently and safely use machines; keep tooling, machines, and work areas clean and organized
8. Work with minimal to no supervision
9. Be accountable to machine shop supervisor and/or job leader as applicable
10. Work according to quality procedures
11. Work in a safe manner and follow jurisdictional safety rules
12. Be available to work planned overtime when/if needed

What will you contribute?

1. 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
2. Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
3. Completed a general machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent.
4. Proficient in reading drawings
5. Experience with CAD/CAM Software
6. Completed a CNC training program
7. Good verbal and written communication
8. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
9. Able to pass certification requirements for operation of overhead cranes
10. Must be willing to be designated as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW)
