What You’ll Do:

  1. Deliver excellent patient care with a focus on client service.

  2. Perform examinations such as OCT, Visual Field testing and interpretation.

  3. Assess and refit contact lenses as needed.

  4. Communicate diagnoses to other medical professionals as needed.

  5. Ensure appointments are completed in a timely manner to accommodate both pre-booked and same-day appointments within the annual health assessments.

  6. Instruct Medcan clients in a manner that you and Medcan determine appropriate from a clinical and service standpoint.

  7. Handle any client issues that may originate from the Optometry session.

What You’ll Need:

  1. 3-5 years’ experience as a licensed optometrist with an Optometry degree.

  2. Current registration in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario.

  3. Experience with examination techniques including: Ocular disease management, Contact lens fittings, urgent eye care, refraction.

  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  5. Be on-site at Medcan as necessary to meet your scheduled appointments.

  6. Be accessible to Medcan staff via email and telephone with a response within 24 hours, or earlier if urgent.

This role is scheduled for every Wednesday between 8am – 4:30pm at our downtown Toronto clinic. The hours may vary based on service demand and client flow. Some additional hours may be scheduled as needed based on a mutually agreeable schedule.

Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!

This opportunity is best suited for an Optometrist who is entrepreneurial in nature and has a strong focus on client service.
