- NOC Job Code/Title: 73300 - Class 1 Truck Driver
We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to work in the Saskatoon area. This position supports Firma’s work in Saskatoon, performing material handling utilizing tandems, and/or truck & pup.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and drive primarily straight trucks to transport goods and materials mainly on local routes and short interurban routes.
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo.
- May drive special purpose trucks such as tow trucks, dump trucks, hydrovac trucks or cement mixing trucks.
- Operating tandems and/or truck & pup in and around the Saskatoon area.
- Prepare all commercial driving documentation as required (pre/post inspections, logbooks, hazard assessments, etc.).
- Prepare load / delivery documentation as needed.
- Completion of commercial carrier requirements.
- Load and unload materials in congested areas.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience with operating tandems / truck and pup.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Commercial carrier training.
- Ability to maneuver in tight spaces / congested areas.
- Reliability: show up for work punctually and fit for duty.
- Physically fit and capable of heavy manual labour (lifting / moving up to 50lbs).
- Great communicator and ability to follow directions.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Safety conscious.
Work Conditions: This role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dust, mud, and snow.
Work Environment: The role involves maneuvering in congested job sites and tight areas.
Terms of Employment: Full time, permanent.
