• NOC Job Code/Title: 73300 - Class 1 Truck Driver

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to work in the Saskatoon area. This position supports Firma’s work in Saskatoon, performing material handling utilizing tandems, and/or truck & pup.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate and drive primarily straight trucks to transport goods and materials mainly on local routes and short interurban routes.
2. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo.
3. May drive special purpose trucks such as tow trucks, dump trucks, hydrovac trucks or cement mixing trucks.
4. Operating tandems and/or truck & pup in and around the Saskatoon area.
5. Prepare all commercial driving documentation as required (pre/post inspections, logbooks, hazard assessments, etc.).
6. Prepare load / delivery documentation as needed.
7. Completion of commercial carrier requirements.
8. Load and unload materials in congested areas.

REQUIREMENTS

1. 3+ years of experience with operating tandems / truck and pup.
2. Valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
3. Clean driver’s abstract.
4. Commercial carrier training.
5. Ability to maneuver in tight spaces / congested areas.
6. Reliability: show up for work punctually and fit for duty.
7. Physically fit and capable of heavy manual labour (lifting / moving up to 50lbs).
8. Great communicator and ability to follow directions.
9. Team player with a positive attitude.
10. Reliable with a strong work ethic.
11. Safety conscious.

Work Conditions: This role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dust, mud, and snow.

Work Environment: The role involves maneuvering in congested job sites and tight areas.

Terms of Employment: Full time, permanent.
