Job Description:

Department Overview:

TD Wealth takes a sophisticated and holistic approach to wealth planning and protection to provide highly personalized advice, solutions and service to clients.

Private Trust ("PT") builds dynamic and long-lasting relationships with high net worth clients. PT's highly integrated core team and other wealth partners work together as ONE TD to help clients build and protect their financial well-being over lifetimes.

Services and solutions provided by Private Trust include:

  • Will and estate planning
  • Financial care through TD Care Connect
  • Power of Attorney, Guardianship, Committeeship
  • Executor Services
  • Trustee Services
  • Investment Administration

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the AVP, Private Trust and Specialized Planning, the Senior Manager, Business Management will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key activities required to manage the Private Trust business (both personal and institutional business).
  • Accountability for product shelf including traditional PT services, trustee for third-party registered plans and ongoing evolution/development of product opportunities.
  • Development of innovative delivery solutions (e.g. centralization, digitization and automation) to manage the service capacity related to PT strategies.
  • Development of longer-term plans to grow revenues in the business, including enhancing the client and trust field experience.
  • Liaison between National Office and Operations; supporting front office with operational elements.
  • Financial oversight of the PT business including review and assessment of monthly financials.
  • Keeping abreast of domestic and international competitive intelligence.
  • Develop marketing and sales tools to support distribution.
  • Manage key enterprise stakeholder relationships.
  • Executive and field presentation development to communicate product management strategy.
  • Responsible for overseeing social media results.
  • Work on ad hoc projects as they arise.

Education/Accreditations:

  • University degree in business or related discipline required, MBA would be an asset.
  • TEP designation would be an asset.
  • CIM, CPA or equivalent would be an asset.
  • Other financial / investment registrations or designations would be an asset.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years' experience in the estate and trust industry; wealth management experience an asset.
  • In-depth trust industry knowledge of incapacity and estate planning and administration.
  • A track record of initiating enhancements and streamlining improvements.
  • Collaborative problem-solver with exceptional critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Process-oriented with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable in presenting/educating different groups about the Private Trust business.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • General knowledge of tax, accounting and investments is an asset.
  • Experience managing a team is an asset.
