JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Civil/Structural Engineer.

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, this position is responsible to perform civil design, analysis, and program work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide civil design, analysis, and oversight to infrastructure projects
  • Support the aging management and periodic inspection programs for concrete and steel structures as well as liners and coatings for containment and safety-related structures
  • Provide design, analysis, and oversight of modifications and infrastructure projects of the National Building Code of Canada, the Ontario Building Code, CSA S16, CSA A23, N287, N289, N291 etc.
  • Supporting CSA Nuclear Standards committees such as N287, N289, and N291
  • Working with OPG's Engineering Change Control (ECC) process to deliver safe, reliable projects on time and on budget

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a Master’s degree or higher related to civil or structural engineering or finite element analysis disciplines would be considered an asset)
  • Minimum 6 years experience in a civil or structural engineering or analysis role
  • Experience in civil design and/or analysis; Experience working with the National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code, CSA S16, CSA A23, etc.
  • Experience working with CSA Nuclear Standards N287, N289, and N291 would be an asset
  • Experience with OPG’s Engineering Change Control process would be an asset; Experience in finite element analysis would be an asset.
  • Experience in structural engineering applications and computer programs an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario

This position will be temporarily based in Pickering, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.
