NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to making a difference to join our Research and Academic Innovation team as a Curriculum Developer. Reporting to the Unity Higher Ed XR grant Project Lead, this position would be responsible for reviewing the existing curriculum for Unity Technologies, Essentials and Jr. Programmer pathways, and creating a sample of the changes that would be seen upon application of a neuroinclusion framework created by NorQuest College.

This framework and sample would apply a universal design and then be used to create additional resources including a curriculum map, as well as teacher resources and tips for teaching this curriculum to a class of neurodiverse individuals. In turn, these resources would then be shared and reviewed by an established advisory committee and any feedback would be reviewed and incorporated if required. The Curriculum developer will have considerable latitude in determining how best to achieve these results.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Review the Unity Technologies Essentials Curriculum Pathway.
  • Review the Unity Technologies Jr. Programmer Pathway.
  • Utilizing the Neuroinclusion Framework, apply it to existing Unity curriculum to create a sample of how changes would be made.
  • Create educator planning and tip sheets to assist those instructors who have never before worked with neurodiverse populations.
  • Take part in feedback/review meetings with established Advisory Committee members.
  • Implement any revisions to Resources as required for final submission.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Master's Degree in Education with specialization in instructional design and/or curriculum development or an equivalent level of credentials and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing curricula, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
  • 3+ years teaching experience.
  • Experience using and/or teaching using a Learning Management System (Blackboard, Moodle).
  • Thorough understanding of instructional design theories, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of e-learning content delivery technologies.
  • Knowledge of universal instructional design principles.
  • Experience teaching neurodiverse learners.
  • Project management experience managing various projects with varied complexities and outcomes simultaneously.

SALARY: This is an opportunity for an individual to work with NorQuest on a Fee-for-Service agreement as an external contractor. The hourly rate is $75 for approximately 20-30 hours per week.
