Job Description / Duties
What to expect in this role?
- Perform all aspects of embryology laboratory procedures, including oocyte retrieval, insemination, embryo culture, embryo grading, cryopreservation, and embryo transfer.
- Conduct micromanipulation techniques such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), assisted hatching, and trophectoderm biopsy.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, quality control, and quality assurance measures.
- Monitor and evaluate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Collaborate with fertility specialists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior embryologists and laboratory staff.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of reproductive medicine and implement best practices to enhance laboratory procedures.
Qualifications / Required Skills
What do you bring to the role?
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Biology, Embryology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a clinical embryology laboratory; candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for a senior position.
- Strong understanding of reproductive biology, infertility, and assisted reproductive technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively without direct supervision while performing all laboratory services in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient and proprietary information.
- Willingness to work weekend and holiday rotations as required.
