Job Description / Duties

What to expect in this role?

1. Perform all aspects of embryology laboratory procedures, including oocyte retrieval, insemination, embryo culture, embryo grading, cryopreservation, and embryo transfer.
2. Conduct micromanipulation techniques such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), assisted hatching, and trophectoderm biopsy.
3. Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, quality control, and quality assurance measures.
4. Monitor and evaluate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
5. Collaborate with fertility specialists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
6. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior embryologists and laboratory staff.
7. Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of reproductive medicine and implement best practices to enhance laboratory procedures.

Qualifications / Required Skills

What do you bring to the role?

1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Biology, Embryology, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a clinical embryology laboratory; candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for a senior position.
3. Strong understanding of reproductive biology, infertility, and assisted reproductive technologies.
4. Demonstrated ability to function effectively without direct supervision while performing all laboratory services in accordance with laboratory protocols.
5. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Commitment to continuous professional development.
7. Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient and proprietary information.
9. Willingness to work weekend and holiday rotations as required.
