About the role:

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Light Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the light vehicle fleet. This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive rotating 4x3 and 3x4-day shift schedule.

The position is site-based at Cardinal River, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Hinton, AB is necessary.

In this role you will:

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Maintain and repair light vehicles and other light duty equipment
• Identify warrantable repairs and process documents for repair orders
• Perform routine preventative maintenance such as inspections, lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis
• Contribute to safe working environment by ensuring all tools and equipment are in safe working condition
• Input data to the computer systems for work orders and parts ordering
• Troubleshoot, repair and/or change various components such as drive train, electrical, braking, suspension, body and frame

Requirements:

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Automotive Service Technician Certification
• Dual ticket in Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or commercial transport would be considered an asset
• Valid driver's license.
• Familiarity in working on newer Ford vehicles is an asset
• Be familiar with light vehicle code reader and scanning tools

Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
