The Digital Delivery Student - BIM role is a 4-month co-op position working on the Buildings Digital Solutions Team (national), predominantly supporting the Digital Delivery team. The candidate will be located in Toronto. The candidate will be responsible for aiding in the development of BIM templates, content, documentation, and customized solutions built surrounding the Autodesk Revit environment, as well as assisting in creating communications in Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint for the same. The candidate may also assist the Digital Delivery Lead in troubleshooting/resolving issues, implementing fixes in response to feedback, and discussing problems and solutions with project production teams across the country.
What you can expect to do here:
- Assist in the development and deployment of English BIM templates, content, documentation, and tools for Revit, aligning with available French and English content in the WSP library.
- Work with the Digital Delivery Lead to create educational presentation content and other documentation (on Microsoft SharePoint) to promote advancements in the WSP library with the broader team, and to assist in uptake of BIM practices on projects.
- Collaborate and work with the various technical project groups in the development of content that responds to issues/feedback from WSP’s engineering work and BIM team needs.
- Assist the Digital Delivery Lead in testing and deployment of automated out-of-the-box or customized solutions where possible.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Enrolled in an Architectural/Engineering Technologist course (or equivalent) with a focus on Building Information Modelling.
- Have a base level knowledge of the AEC industry and BIM practices within the AEC industry.
- Experience working with Autodesk Revit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Be self-motivated with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Be punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and very organized.
- Have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and be able to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Be committed to enhancing your technical and professional skills.
Value Add:
- Experience with other Autodesk software like Navisworks Manage and BIM360 is an asset.
- Knowledge of C# and/or Python, Dynamo, Revit APIs considered an asset, as there may be opportunities to develop custom applications within this role.
- Prior experience with mechanical and electrical BIM coordination is an asset.
