Mine Survey Technician
Job description
The Mine Technician will play a key role in navigating and coordinating mining activities associated with optimization of mining operations.
Role RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere and follow compliance with the Company's Health and Safety rules as well as understand OHSA’s rules and regulations.
- Provide accurate surveys for layouts, site layouts, month-end reports, etc.
- Survey, sample, prepare, and analyze blasthole samples.
- Organize campaigns and analyze samples.
- Understand local geology.
- Manage waste progress and rehabilitation according to the waste designs.
- Monitor and assist with stockpile management, manage stockpile elevation, and clean-up.
- Assist with procurement when necessary.
- Proficient in conducting LIDAR–photogrammetry surveys and creating 3D models of the area.
Role Requirements:
- Diploma from a college or university in mining engineering or GeoTechnician is preferred, but other technical disciplines will be considered.
- Understanding of quality control and quality systems.
- Valid Ontario Driver's license.
- Drone Pilot certificate – is an asset.
- Trimble / Leica survey equipment usage is an asset.
- Knowledge of mining software like Surpac, Pix 4D, etc. is an asset.
- Understanding sampling and quality rules.
- Work outside in Northern Ontario weather.
