Job Description: Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls for service, providing Advanced Life Support, initial assessment, treatment, and transportation of ill or injured persons in accordance with Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations, Emergency Health Services Basic and Advanced Life Support Protocols, and organization policies and procedures.

Education:

  • Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)

Licenses:

  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HCP Certificate (CPR-HCP)
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP)

Competencies:

  • Advanced - Interpersonal and Communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to work:
    • As a member of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Independently

Other Information:

  • No guaranteed hours of work
  • Must be available for a minimum of 1 to 4 days per week. Must be available all shifts which include short shifts, short notice calls, statutory or designated holidays
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
  • Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
  • Cut Knife is located approximately 55 km west of North Battleford
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Travel within the region and provincially
