Job Description:

Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) delivers best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand. We deliver on CAPA's mission to inspire and connect our customers, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, drive business outcomes and enhance our brand.

We are looking for a seasoned, motivated communicator to support the Communications strategy and delivery of Group Head (Canadian Business Banking) executive communications, by articulating a thoughtful and compelling voice for the leader that will advance the business and the Bank's narrative in a differentiated way. The successful candidate will bring a diverse skill set, combining excellent writing capabilities, experience creating thought leadership platforms and strategies, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders, and experience navigating a large organization.

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate closely with partners and stakeholders to shape engagement opportunities for the Group Head; research and develop detailed briefing documents for these events.
  • Partner effectively with colleagues and business partners to understand business priorities and how they should inform the leader messages and engagements.
  • Develop engaging speeches, articles and thought leadership pieces that express the voice of the Group Head in ways that enhance TD's brand, reputation and narrative.
  • Lead on the Group Head LinkedIn strategy and execution.
  • Work with a team focused on helping to shape and elevate executive voice in ways that reaffirm the business and the Bank's differentiated culture, instill confidence in our strategy, and position TD as a leader on issues that matter to our customers, colleagues and communities.
  • Be a team player who can also work independently.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of media, social media and content strategy.
  • Deliver exceptional quality work under pressure.

Desired qualifications and skills:

  • 7-12 years of experience in communications or related field, with background working in a corporate communications environment.
  • Exceptional writing skills, including speech writing, with a passion for creating content that conveys a clear and relevant message and that effectively captures tone and voice.
  • Ability to develop and implement interesting and innovative executive communications plans, with a point of view on how to leverage executive voice to drive business objectives.
  • Understanding of Banking, Business Banking and/or B2B industries.
  • Experience developing, managing and evaluating the effectiveness of internal/ external communication vehicles and delivery channels that support strategy.
  • Ability to prepare and manage communication budgets for projects within the agreed upon parameters.
  • Strong interest in world news and broader issues and trends, combined with understanding of the financial services sector and the ability to apply to the Group Head's communication strategy.
