Job description

The Supply Chain Operations Specialist will oversee procurement, inventory management, and supplier negotiations to ensure smooth operations across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sourcing, negotiating pricing and contracts, managing inventory levels, and placing orders. Additionally, this role requires a team player who is willing to assist with customer service and order fulfillment when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Procurement:

  • Source new products and supplies with offshore and domestic suppliers to secure cost-effective and high-quality products.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate procurement.
  • Implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Contract & Pricing Negotiation: Manage supplier contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels across multiple facilities to ensure stock availability and prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Order Processing: Place and track purchase orders, coordinate shipments, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Operational Support: Assist with logistics, warehousing, and distribution to streamline supply chain operations.
  • Customer Service Support: Provide backup assistance for customer inquiries, order processing, and issue resolution as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze supply chain performance, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement process improvements. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable pricing and contract terms.
  • Experience managing inventory levels across multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of international sourcing and import/export regulations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Customer service experience or a willingness to assist in customer-related tasks.
